Business Oriented Corporate Programs

The following is a summary of the most popular business oriented programs offered by NSI.  These programs have been offered with great success to companies ranging from small start ups to major silicon valley high technology corporations.  If your company has a need that is not addressed by any of these standard programs, we are more than happy to tailor a program to your specific requirements.

Employees Don't Quit Companies, They Quit Managers

A workshop to help managers communicate more effectively with their employees, reducing turnover of key employees and reduce the bottom-line costs of losing, recruiting, rehiring, and training new employees.  Whether you are a manager wanting to keep your best employees by making your department a better place to work, or you are an employee with a manager that challenges you to your core...you can learn techniques to become a better listener, be more effective at giving feedback, setting intention and direction to others, and how to build trust and personal responsibility.

Selling Yourself: Communication Skills for Interviewing

A workshop to help anyone who would like to more easily get through the interviewing process with more ease and grace. Effective communication skills help your interaction, whether you are the candidate or the interviewer.  Selling yourself, regardless of whether or not you are in sales, marketing, looking for that raise or promotion, selling your annual budget, an idea or project...we are all in sales.  Getting and maintaining rapport with others, being aware of communication styles, and determining the other person's motivations are all aspects of selling yourself.

   Dealing With Difficult People

This workshop focuses on communication techniques that promote better communications and relationships in the workplace. Most people don't set an intention to be difficult.  Difficulty usually results from differences in communication styles, unclear intentions, or the feeling that it doesn't matter.  Learn to recognize the communication styles of others and become more "intentional" in your interactions.  Whether the difficulty is with a boss, a co-worker, a friend, or family member, this workshop will help make you more aware of your part in the communication process.

   Mastering an Interrupt-Driven Job

This program covers communication techniques that empower employees through goal setting and negotiation processes, setting and enforcing boundaries, learning to say "no" and mean it, and managing time more effectively.  Certain jobs are filled with interruptions, e.g., customer service, systems administration, emergency medical personnel, and many others.  Keeping track of the "bigger picture", setting goals or making a "road map" of where you're going, and allowing yourself to look beyond the detail "right now", is very important to feeling that you have a purpose.  Learn techniques to deter the "professional" interrupter, the one who wants to stop in your office and "chat" and learn to regain your sanity at every opportunity.

   Communications in Management

A workshop to help managers communicate more effectively with their employees, co-workers, their bosses, and customers and become better leaders.  Being a good manager is more than just telling people what to do and how to do it.  It involves giving the appropriate amount of responsibility, giving the right level of authority and the proper tools, then stepping back and giving others the opportunity to succeed.  It involves getting to know the desires and interests of the employee and helping them grow.  How you communicate sets the tone for your organization and means you must pay attention to everyone and everything.

   De-Stressing in a Stressful World

An interactive workshop on letting go of stress, refocusing attention, finding peace within.  Relaxation techniques are discussed and experienced, including meditation, self-hypnosis, and guided imagery.  The ability to relax, even in hectic surroundings, is a tool that will help you accomplish more with less effort.  You will be able to think more clearly, sleep better, wake more refreshed with techniques to calm the "chatter" and relax.  Learn to take a 5-10 minute mini-vacation in your office that will help your body and mind recharge itself.

   Communications Training for HR Representatives

A course utilizing NLP techniques to assist HR representatives in employee communications.  How a person processes information is important to finding the right job for that person. How a person processes information can tell you if this person is a good candidate for management (or not), can handle a crises and interruptions, is "others" or "self" focused, is motivated by awards or by warnings.  Will this person want to change jobs quickly or want the same job forever?  Can they handle fast-paced change?  This is useful information for anyone involved in dealing with helping individuals fit within an organization.
